Does your lobby look more like the waiting area at the DMV than a good way to welcome people to your tech firm? When clients are waiting to meet with you, do they feel like they’re serving time? If you’re creating products for prison wardens, this may be the right look for you. For everyone else, it might be time to install remarkable and memorable lobby signs. This is what SellerActive was looking to do when they contacted Specialty Graphic Solutions for lobby signs for software firms in Portland, Oregon.
What Is SellerActive?
SellerActive is a cloud-based inventory and order management software developer that was founded by Bryan Hockett and Jason Harra in 2011. They were well aware of the thousands of small tasks that burdened online retailers. They wanted to create a set of user-friendly tools to e-commerce enterprises that would automate and simplify processing, shipping, and online listing. SellerActive was what they created, and today, it’s being used to sell more than two million products per year!
When such a successful software business contacted us for back-lit lobby signs in Portland, Oregon, we jumped at the chance to help out. They had a new office space and had updated their brand. They wanted a new lobby sign that was as high-tech as their software. Fortunately, the mighty sign makers at SGS were up to the task.
What We Did for SellerActive
Our first step was to make sure we understood the look SellerActive wanted to convey . They shared some pictures of other signs they really liked - a very efficient way of getting their ideas across to us. We designed a dimensional illuminated lobby sign that really pops with their color choices. They gave us the thumbs up once they saw the art proofs.
We started with a 60” wide by 20.5” tall custom built lightbox with a brushed dark aluminum face with the SellerActive logo routed out. Next, we added a second layer of translucent green vinyl that perfectly matches the client’s branding to a thin acrylic panel. This was mounted on the aluminum face so that the green was only visible where the logo had been routed out.
The lightbox is wired with strips of long-lasting and efficient white LED lights and has an internal power supply to pump loads of light out through the green logo. This makes an otherwise unremarkable lobby shine. Once the sign was ready, we worked with SellerActive’s schedule to install the sign. We were even able to flex to do the install on a Saturday so they could surprise the team with a Big Reveal first thing Monday morning. The lobby sign was mounted flush to the wall with the face extending out from all sides to give a floating impression.
In the end, SellerActive was ecstatic about the job we did.
